NEW N-TAX SELECTION PROCESS, HOW TO PASS THE PHONE INTERVIEW AND SOME OF THE QUESTIONS ASKED DURING THE INTERVIEW.

A Simple Guide To Help You Achieve Success In The Remaining Stages Of N-Tax Selection Process.
When N-Power commenced the 2017 Application on the 13th of June, 2017, a new category N-Power Tax known as N-Tax was introduced to engage Volunteers enlisted via the N-Power application process as Community Liaison Tax Officers under the Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS). The VAIDS is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF) and the Joint Tax Board.

VAIDS programme was introduced to select 7,500 qualified N-Tax Volunteers who will undertake tax promotion, document review, record keeping, tax enquiries response, customer management, report writing, amongst others. On the 29th of June, 2017, The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, then Acting President, issued an Executive Order instituting VAIDS. VAIDS has a lifetime of 9 months starting from the 1st of July, 2017.

For this reason, the VAIDS N-Tax category has been operating an expedited selection process separate from the General N-Power programme, N-Health, N-Agro and N-Teach. This is being facilitated directly by the Federal Ministry of Finance- The VAIDS team.

And for ease of reference, N-Power released this selection process for the VAIDS/ N- TAX category alone:
1. Application
2. BVN Validation
3. Test
4. Physical Interview in States and Physical Verification
5. Assessment Interview
6. Final Selection
7. Deployment
N-Power only served as the Registration/Application Partner for VAIDS/N-TAX. And as the Recruitment Partner for the process, N-Power was responsible for Process 1-3 ONLY.

However, after the N-Power finished process 1-3 and handed over to the VAID NG team, the process changed. Though some of the successful applicants was initially contacted but was later told to hold on and wait for further instruction which most of them have not gotten from VAID team till date.  Notwithstanding, N-Tax selection process has been in progress and some successful applicants have been deployed.

We observed that VAID selection process has been on for a while now even though many N-Tax applicants still doubt it. It’s also clear that the selection process was changed from stage 4 (Physical Interview in States and Physical Verification). And whether you believe it or not VAID team has trained not less than three batches of N-Tax applicants and as at the time of compiling this article another set are being trained in Abuja. So stop the doubt and face the fact.

Starting from stage 4 the new selection process for N-Tax is now as follows:
4. Phone Interview and Training Invitation
5. Training at Abuja
6. Final Assessment Test
7. Final Selection
8. Deployment
Many have passed through these processes and have been deployed so it’s not a hoax.

Now is time to clear your doubt and answer some of the questions many of you N-Tax applicants are asking. First, it’s true that N-Tax selection process has been on and all successful candidates are deployed immediately. So stop doubting, because some doubted to the extent of ignoring or even rejecting the phone interview believing it’s a fraud. To prove this, below are some of the pictures of already trained and successful applicants released by VAID via their Facebook page.

To make sure you don’t miss your opportunity, here are some of the things you should do:

Make sure that your phone number (the line you inputted during N-Power registration) is always on and reachable. Many have missed the phone interview because their number is not reachable. Also some candidates complained that as they were going through the phone interview their phone went off due to low battery. And they are now asking for a second chance.

Have in mind that it’s better to leave those social media chat that consume your battery for now in order to make sure your phone is always on and reachable so you can achieve something better, most especially this period of incessant power failure across the country. Note that once you miss the call it will not get back to you again because many are waiting, neither will you be able to call the number back. So you can either choose to enjoy your chat and miss the opportunity or miss the chat for now and grab the opportunity then later continue with your chat. The choice is yours.

In addition, make sure that the email you registered with is functional (can receive and send mail). If not, go and retrieve it and make it functional because that’s where you will receive your invitation after you have passed the phone interview. You are advised to always check your inbox and spam folder for the invitation mail. The invitation mail will contain; the training date, the venue, your expected arrival date and other necessary information you need. Remember that N-Tax require only 7500 people out of over 200000 applicants, if you fail at any stage you will be replaced automatically. Thus, the aim of this article is to guide you through the selection process. So keep to every instruction you see here.

If you can’t access your email and you can’t retrieve it, please use the contact form to send use mail so we can help direct you on how to go about it before it’s too late. VAID will not accept any other email from you apart from the one you registered with. Take precaution now!

Furthermore, my inbox is filled with inquiries about the kind of questions asked during the phone interview.  Therefore, here are some of the questions asked during the N-Tax phone interview:

How old are you? Are you working? Will you be available for the training in Abuja? Are you a nursing mother? etc. All are simple questions just to confirm the data you provided during registration and any deviation from that means the end, so make sure to give same answers as what they already have with them. Also nursing mothers are not allowed at the training center except if your baby have grown enough that you can leave him/her behind and go for the 4-5days training. NOTE: getting the phone interview is not a guaranty that you will be invited for the training. You will receive invitation only if you pass the phone interview.

These things may look very simple but many applicants have missed their opportunity because of these simple things. The truth is that I was moved to write this piece due to the rate people is missing out on this. The most touching was when I saw a lady telling other applicants to ignore the phone interview that they are fraudsters. She even went ahead to narrate how they answered the call and later got the invitation but turned it down because they believe it’s fraud simply because other N-power categories shortlist is not yet out, even after N-power have made it clear that they are no longer in charge of N-Tax. Indeed my people perish for lack of knowledge. What an opportunity that was ignorantly thrown away.

Finally, the training normally last between 4-5days after which there is an assessment test which is the final stage. Only those that pass the final assessment test are selected and deployed to their various states. So the training is the key to your being selected. You must carefully work your way through to the training and be very attentive during the training to ensure that you pass the final assessment test.

NOTE: Among all the N-Power categories, it’s only N-Tax that will likely retain the beneficiaries. So take it serious and give it your best. My reasons; the beneficiaries will occupy fresh positions, they are few and can easily be absorbed, their activities will directly generate revenue to the federal government, they undergo training etc.

I believe this have answered most if not all the questions from N-Tax applicants, also the little advice will serve as a guide to your success if you diligently follow it. I wish you success. However, if you still have any question please use the comment box below and use the share button to reach out to those that need it.
